Wat een waanzinnige fiets die FZ1 Fazer, alleen die uitlaat he?
De metalen hitteschilden zijn veel te prominent aanwezig, dus ik ben aan de slag gegaan om ze zwart te maken.
Bij een doe het zelf zaak heb ik een spuitbus hittebestendige zwarte verf gekocht. Kosten waren nog geen 10 Euro.
De hitteschildjes zijn eenvoudig te verwijderen. Let wel op: het bovenste hiiteschild zit met 4!! boutjes vast. De middelste aan de rechterbuitenkant is voor de sier en zit gewoon met een moertje vast.
Van een kartonnen doos heb ik een mini spuitcabine gemaakt en daar een voor een de hitteschildjes in opgehangen en gespoten.
Voor het spuiten even goed schoonmaken met wasbenzine, en vervolgens de verf in 3 dunne lagen opspuiten.
De verf dient eerst een week te drogen en is die tijd nog glanzend. Daarna moeten de hitteschildjes in de oven verwarmd worden tot boven de 200 graden. De lak wordt dan mat, bereikt dan zijn volle sterkte en is daarna hittebestendig tot 800 graden!
Montage moet je uiteraard doen met mooie zwarte inbusboutjes, die je bij iedere ijzerwarenzaak kunt kopen voor een paar Euro.
Het resultaat is dat de hitteschildjes dezelfde kleur en uitstraling hebben als de cilinderkop. Een veel fraaier gezicht.
Mede door het vervangen van de taartschep voor de kentekenplaat en de verder op deze site veelgeprezen iets hogere ruit van Puig levert dit de Fazer op zoals Yamaha hem bedoelt moet hebben, maar niet durfde te maken. Smaken verschillen nu eenmaal.

Je hebt ze bij Yamaha misschien wel op een idee gebracht voor het 2008 model ;D

hey hans ,mijn uitlaat had ik ook gedaan met flexa, maar ik vond hem een paarsige uitstraling hebben. ik heb hem over gedaan met karwei hittebestendige lak, dit is wel zwart. foto''s kun je zien bij kentekenplaathouder, ook in fz1 accesoires bij no. 5, groet robfz1

gewoon poedercoaten, heb ik ook gedaan,kost weinig en is het mooist!

Of zo, kost maar een paar centen meer, als je carbon uberhaupt iets vind natuurlijk.
Ik vond het wel geslaagd :)
